Today we took up the five questions from yesterday's lesson. We continued looking at the carbon cycle (note is attached at the right) by examining the two processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. There is no homework this weekend. Please get your Wawanosh permission forms and $10 in on Monday. Also, if you want to go to the International Plowing Match on Wednesday, I'll need that permission form and $5 on Monday.

Today we examined the note on Energy in Ecosystems. 2 online quizes were completed by the class. The terms used to label the organisms in a food chain were practiced. Absent students will need to get this note from someone in class. The 5 questions to ponder are to be completed for homework.

Today we corrected and added to the Ecological Reach for the Top sheet from yesterday. We then read about the Wolves in Yellowstone Park case study and created a concept map on how the removal of wolves from that ecosystem affected other species there. Be sure to print off the two notes "Energy in Ecosystems" and "The Carbon Cycle".

Today we reviewed the Classification System for Species at Risk. Then students completed the sheet called Ecological Reach for the Top. There was a short note on ecology copied. This note is NOT on the blog. Be sure to print off the last two ecology notes for Wednesday and Thursday's classes (Energy in Ecosystems and the Carbon Cycle note).

Today we discussed student's concept maps on the disappearance of frogs. We then went through the note called "Extinction of Species". There are 2 homework questions and a sheet on the classification system for at-risk species to fill out. Some of you still need to bring in your student fees and important signed forms!!! Let's get that done please. Also, you can begin bringing in your signed permission form and $10 fee for our Wawanosh field trip. Deadline for this is Friday Sept. 19th.
